Simple Data Management Systems (SDMS) is a 100% local family business located in Perth, Western Australia. SDMS has been developing software applications and other business solutions since 1999. Some of our clients have included the Department For Child Protection, DFES (Department of Fire and Emergency Services), Water Corporation WA, South Australia Police Force, Samoa Police Force, WA Police Social Club, South West Investments, Vintage Car Club of WA, Denise Wright Bridal as well as many secondary schools throughout Australia.
For many years my wife and I were managing our weekly shopping list on a magnetised paper notepad which we kept on the fridge. Throughout the week we would write down the items that we needed to purchase (if we could find a pen or pencil!) but there were often times where we would think of an item while we weren’t at home, which meant we would forget to add the item, or forget what the item was by the time we returned home! Each Saturday morning, we would tear off the pages and take them with us to do our weekly shopping – or at least, this was our intention. There were many times where we forgot to take the shopping list with us and we found ourselves trying to remember what we wanted to purchase in the middle of the grocery store.
We thought to ourselves that there had to be a better, more efficient and simpler way to manage a shopping list! In 2018, we started developing an application which was trialled by family, friends, colleagues and others. As a result of the positive feedback we received and requests for additional enhancements, we finally released My Shopping List in 2020.
We know that there are a lot of shopping list applications on the market as well as other methods of managing your shopping list (spreadsheets, word documents, pen and paper, taking pictures of your list etc.) but our goal was to develop an application that was independent of any retail store, had no annoying advertising and would cater to the majority of shoppers i.e. those shoppers who wanted something that was very basic and simple to use as well as those shoppers who wanted something a bit more comprehensive.
We know that My Shopping List will make your shopping list easier to manage, easier to add items and easier to access. Additionally, with most people having access to the internet, My Shopping List will always be at your fingertips.
Being a local business, 100% of your subscription stays in Western Australia. A one year subscription works out to be less than 2 cents a day or less than two takeaway coffees a year.
